Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. Six simple answers—your gender, birth date, how you'd rate your health, tobacco history, the coverage amount you want, and the term length—provide enough for carriers to quote rates. Your name, address, and full health history come into play only if you decide to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
These represent what each carrier is quoting for the health tier you selected. The actual final premium comes from the carrier once underwriting is finished, and they may keep your tier as-is, move you to a better one, or adjust it. Quotes on this site are estimates only and not insurance offers or price guarantees.
What happens when I click Apply?
You enter your name and move into the secure online application, prefilled with all your earlier responses. The form requests additional details needed for underwriting and supports electronic signing. You can pause and continue anytime. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129), administers the application.
Will I need a medical exam?
It really depends on the carrier, the benefit amount you chose, and your health information. Lots of today's term products offer rapid underwriting—meaning no medical exam—for people who meet their requirements. Each quote here tells you for that specific carrier whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required.
Is a longer term better?
Coverage should span the period during which your household would struggle financially if something happened to you—like paying off a house, supporting children, or managing business debts. A longer term means you keep the same monthly payment for more years, though the cost goes up. The quote tool lets you price out 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30-year spans for comparison.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The rate tool does not collect name or contact information to show quotes. We do not sell data and maintain no visitor database for sharing. Our first-party measurement respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, but the site also uses a cookieless page-view beacon from our content delivery provider which does not read those signals. Details are on the privacy page.
